GTA IV Launch Party @ GJ II Nite @ XI pm
Posted Monday, April 28, 2008
They said it couldn't be done. Midnight launch parties are for big-box stores; the connected ones. Little stores with their moms and pops and Matsons are no match and need to wait until tomorrow. They were wrong. Very, very wrong. And so it begins...
MATT MATSON IS ON THE ROAD TO CHICAGO FOR YOU!!!
You read that right. Matt has taken to the highways to defend your right to shop the most awesome store in this great United States of America and still secure the most coveted titles at Midnight. Make sure to check out the forums to read the latest blog entry. Matt and his co-pilot(s) will be keeping you informed periodically on the unfolding events during this epic road trip.
Plan to be at the store tonight at 11pm when the doors will be unlocked and the party begins!

Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword (DS) All the action of Ninja Gaiden shrunk down in a little tiny package. Whip your DS on its side and get engrossed with the unique touch screen sword play. Get to the store fast before this one disappears like a ninja.
Backyard Baseball 09 (DS) Silly cartoon versions of your favorite MLB baseball payers playing the American sport we all have come to be bored with. Sorry, it's true.
Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core (PSP) Action RPG set in the Final Fantasy VII universe. If you like FF it's a no-brainer.
Naruto Ultimate Ninja 3 (PS2) Yeah!
Obscure (Wii) Survival horror on the Wii.
Opoona (Wii) Crazy Teletubbies looking RPG. The actual RPG mechanics are supposed to be pretty good. If you can get past the playschool graphics this one could be interesting.
Viking (360 & PS3) "The Goddess of DEATH has resurrected a legion of demon warriors to overrun mankind and begin the apocalypse!" That's from the back of the box. What do you do with the world once you destroy it? Seems a little pointless to me.
Dark Sector (360 & PS3) A good Gears of War clone. I hear the graphics are excellent.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl @ GJ

New Stuff @ GJ
Posted Tuesday, January 22, 2008
There has been a drought of good games the last few weeks since Christmas. Well, be thirsty no more!
Burnout Paradise (360, PS3) - Race and Crash in a huge city with 7 of your bestest friends. I played it for about 30 minutes this morning and it is AWESOME! I didn't care for the Demo because there wasn't much to do, but the final product is way more exciting. Come check it out today on demo at the GJ.
Advance Wars (DS) - It's a turn based strategy game by Nintendo! The earlier games in the series were amazing and this one will continue the trend. Can you say WiFi battles! Oh yeah! I'm taking on all challengers. Come in today and show me what you've got!
Endless Ocean (Wii) - Pet Sharks and Whales in a huge ocean just ripe for you to explore. Pointless Fun? Yes, but it is fun. And isn't that what life is all about; having fun!
COMING LATER THIS WEEK......
No More Heros (Wii) - Brought to you by that same whacked out team (Suda 51) that brought us Killer 7 on the Game Cube. You play Travis Touchdown and you buy what basically is a Light Saber off of eBay and you become an assasin. How nuts is that?!
Happy New Year!
Posted Wednesday, January 9, 2008
Happy New Year! Ok, I know that’s way late, but I’ve been busy playing all the amazing games I got for the holidays. BTW, Rock Band, Rocks! Geometry Wars Galaxies is a Blast! And Orange Box is…….Orange? No, it’s Amazing!
Just got a small import order with some SUPER cool stuff. Check it out.
Link Plushies - Just check out the picture. I call this picture, “Chain Link Fence”. Get it? See his name is Link and all the Links are chained together kind of…. Ok so that was lame, but the plushies are pure goodness!
Mario Coil Block Plushies – We sold out of these puppies at Christmas but we have them back in stock now. These things will be gone faster than you can say, “Mama Mia!”
360 Fighting Stick – Hey we all know the 360 controller is great for 3D games, but sucks for 2D fighting games. Here is the solution. The Hori Fighting Stick EX2.
Rock Band & Guitar Hero III - We have the hard to find Rock Band and Guitar Hero III, in stock now, on 360 and PS3.
Can’t wait to see you soon at the store,
Matt Matson

Hot New Jammin Games @ Game Junkie
Posted Friday, September 14, 2007
It’s experimental cool DS game week @ Game Junkie.
Check out what’s new:
Jam Sessions (DS) – It’s a virtual guitar for your DS. This game allows you to program guitar chords and then play them by strumming the screen. The results are quite authentic. Get a FREE Guitar Pick while supplies last. I will have mine hooked up to a mini-amp at the store serenading you with my favorite Guster songs.
Drawn To Life (DS) – Cute little 2D platform game with a twist. The twist is that you get to actually draw what your character looks like. It doesn’t stop there either. You actually get to draw a lot of the characters and objects in the game. I’m a sucker for games like this and will be taking a copy home tonight.
NHL 08 (PS2, 360, PS3) – This is supposed to be the best hockey game in years. It’s getting some seriously good reviews, so if you like sports games, this should be right up your alley.
Heavenly Sword (PS3) – This would be the closest thing to God of War for the PS3. High Action and Intense Graphics.
Notable Recent Releases
Carnival Games (Wii) – You get to play over 24 Carnival games with your Wii Remote. SkiBall, Quarter Pitch, Whack-a-Mole, Football Toss…….And many more.
Brunswick Pro Bowling (Wii) – Love Wii Bowling, but you want more? More Pins, More Balls, More Bowling!
Persona 3 (PS2) – PersonaLLY I think this game is GREAT! A must buy for RPG fans.
Don’t forget about HALO 3! We will be having a HUGE midnight launch party on the 24th. So make sure you have your copy pre-ordered. You're not going to want to miss the biggest Halo 3 Party of the Century!

Bioshock for XBOX 360 Tomorrow @ Game Junkie
Posted Monday, August 20, 2007
We will be receiving BioShock tomorrow for the Xbox 360. This game looks amazing and might go down as the best reviewed video game in history. Don't believe me? Look at what the critics are saying:
“…taken as a whole, as an experience that's richly and utterly complete, and one that engages the player in a constant dialogue, BioShock is virtually unassailable.”
Andrew Pfister- 1UP.com 10 out of 10
“BioShock stands as a monolithic example of the convergence of entertaining gameplay and an irresistibly sinister, engrossing storyline that encompasses a host of multifaceted characters. This is an essential gaming experience.”
Charles Onyett IGN.com 9.7 out of 10
“It’s ingenious, enthralling, and a masterpiece of the most epic proportions. So without further delay, would you kindly enter Rapture so that you too can experience the best that video games have to offer?”
Andrew Weiner Game Informer 10 out of 10
“This game is more refreshing than a 6 pack of Bawls, more satisfying than a Banana Split, and more atmospheric than the Pacroom. Did I mention it’s creepy? My tail stood on end the every minute I played. ”
Pixel Game Junkie 10 out of 10 Bananas
If you were looking for something new and original this is the game for you. So drop by the store tonight and pre-order a copy to guarantee one tomorrow, or roll the dice. Either way hope to see everyone tomorrow.

Mario Strikers Charged, And Much More!
Posted Wednesday, August 1, 2007
Just in @ Game Junkie:
Mario Strikers Charged (Wii) – The much anticipated sequel to the ultra quick and highly playable Game Cube game has now arrived for the Nintendo Wii. If fast paced arcade soccer game with insane power-ups and super moves sounds like fun than Mario Strikers is for you. Did I mention that you can play online with your friends or players across the country? Well it’s got that too.
Picross DS (DS) – This is quite possibly the most addicting puzzle game ever. It’s hard to explain, but I will try. It’s kind of like Sudoku (except better and even more addicting) except when you have completed the puzzle, instead of a grid full of numbers, you have a picture well….of something cool. This is one of my favorite games ever, so drop by the store and let me give you a demonstration. I guarantee you will love it. Here is what IGN had to say about the game, “This is a fantastic alternative to the Sudoku design, and as fun as that number puzzle is, Picross DS trounces it.” IGN 9.0 out of 10
Plus it’s only $19.99. Holly Schmolly!
Other Happenings @ GJ:
Board Game Night! – Every Sunday @ 5pm we will be hosting Board Game Night. Either myself, Russo or Doc Bidwell (or if your lucky all three) will be running the night of your lives (ok maybe a little over the top, but you get the idea). Board Games Galore and Newbs are welcome.
See Ya @ The Store,

Hot New Releases!
Posted Thursday, May 31, 2007
The new games have been trickling out over the last month or so, but we actually have some pretty good stuff this week. Check it out!
Crush [psp] - This game looks pretty cool, but what is up with the whacked out heinous box art. This is almost as bad as the notoriously bad box art for Karnage Rally. The moral of the story, don't let the box art stop you from buying this unique puzzle game. We know how rare a unique game is on the PSP.
Mario Party 8 [Wii] - Your favorite party game is back and on the new Nintendo console with the much beloved, motion control.
ShadowRun [360] - Take a first person shooter, add in some mystical races, and include the power to upgrade your magic and telepathic abilities between rounds. Sounds intriguing right? That's ShadowRun!
Forza 2 [360] - Realistic racing sim for the 360. You have the ability to customize just about everything.
Mortal Kombat Armageddon [Wii] - All the family friendly decapitating you come to expect from a Mortal Kombat game. Now available on the Wii.
Molten Core Raid Deck [World of Warcraft Card Game] - All the WOW players have been waiting for this. You become the Ragnaros Fire Lord and take on a handful of your buddies and send them to their doom. Don't forget the 10 exclusive treasure card only found here.

To Pwn or not to Pwn? That is the question.
Feeling a little more con than pro? Has Strongside continously exposed your weak side? Not really sure what MLG means?
Well my friends, fear not, for I have the answer. On Saturday, March 24, 2007, of this upcoming weekend, you'll have the opportunity to compete with gamers of your skill and demeanor.
That's right. No longer will you be forced to play along side gamers who eat, breathe, and sleep Halo 2 in attempt to secure a contract and a paycheck. Not that there's anything wrong with that!
The Halo 2 Amateur Tournament is just days away and NOW is the time to signup. The cutoff time has been extended until 7:30pm, Friday, March 23, 2007. So, jump into your Warthog and bungie on down to the store and signup immediately! Or, call the store at 513-777-5740 with a credit or go online to signup via PayPal. The Story of the J
On Valentine's Day 2003, Game Junkie humbly opened its door to the unknowing denizens of West Chester and Liberty Township. Founded by Matt Matson, Game Junkie is an independently owned and operated video game specialty retailer. We're elite, but not elitist. It's important for everyone who comes into Game Junkie to know they'll be treated equally, regardless of video game knowledge or age.
Why shop at Game Junkie? Our customers tell us there are three main reasons: Customer Service, Try Before You Buy and Special Events.
Customer Service
Ever been to a video game store or giant retailer and have the clerk remember your name from the last visit? Thought not. Game Junkie employees are more than just friendly and knowledgeable: they're personable. It's so much nicer to shop at a store where the employees will tell you if a game sucks. We will. Tell you, that is. Not suck.
Try Before You Buy
Sick of taking a game home to find it's not worth the disc it's printed on, yet unwilling to shell out $9 to rent said game for two days? So are we. If Game Junkie has the game in stock, you can try it out. No more spending $50 to discover you just wasted $50.
Special Events
We mean tournaments, Friday night gaming parties, WiFi Wednesday and the one and only Video Game Decathlon. Where else can you play with fellow DS and PSP owners on Wednesday night, participate in a game league on Thursday, attend a gaming party Friday night and win $1000 in cash at a Saturday tournament? Exactly.
