- The bracket will
be a FULL DOUBLE ELIMINATION. This means a player
has to lose twice before he or she is eliminated.
- All
games will be 2-minute quarters until the
winner's and loser's bracket semi-finals, in which case the quarters
will increase to 3 minutes. If the game is not settled after overtime,
a "Grudge Match" will be called and played until the first player
scores. Two minute games are limited to 45 minutes of real time, three
minute games are limited to 60 minutes. If that real time limit is
reached, then the score at the time limit will be the final score.
- Skill Level will
be "All-Madden", Camera Angles will
be the "Madden Cam"
- Fatigue
and Injuries will be turned on, Madden
Challenge, Accelerated Clock, and Weather will be turned off.
- Memory Cards are not allowed at any
time, nor is the
use of any "profile card"
- You
are allowed 2 minutes to set substitutions and
audibles before the start of the game, and this must be done in front
of your opponent. You may also set up your Player Lock, Auto Subs, and
Pass Mode, which will be set at the defaults to start but can be
changed.
- You may select
any playbook, and any of the 32 NFL
teams.

- There is a "Mercy Rule" in effect. If at the end of a
quarter, you are trailing by 21 points of more, then the came will be
called.
- Penalties and
Offsides are on, the sliders will be
set to the middle position.
- Unnecessary
"jiggling" of the screen by
looking left and right in rapid succession just to disrtupt your
opponent is prohibited.
- Unnecessary
pauses, such as running down the play
clock when the game clock is stopped, is prohibited
- On either of the above infractions, the first
offense
will result in a warning, the second will result in game forefit.
- Coaching by spectators is also
prohibited. If a
spectator is caught coaching, he or she will be disqualified if
entered, and may cause the person currently playing to forefit.
